About the role
The Research and Development Pharmacist will support the pharmacy service within the R&D department, providing pharmaceutical expertise for all clinical trials involving investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs). The role involves shaping policies, guidelines and procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain pharmacy service policies, guidelines and procedures for R&D.
- Provide pharmaceutical support and advice for all CTIMPs.
- Comment on policy and service changes, contributing to R&D service development.
- Communicate with R&D colleagues to assess and meet IMP management needs, including planning and delivering training sessions.
- Undertake relevant training, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Participate regularly in CTIMP meetings and other clinical/R&D meetings.
- Support the medicine optimisation agenda for CTIMPs.
- Deputise for the R&D Pharmacy Lead as required.
- Assist in preparation for monitoring visits and audits by internal or external regulatory bodies.
Required profile
- Qualified pharmacist with experience in research and development environments.
- Familiarity with clinical trial processes and investigational medicinal products.
- Ability to develop and review pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with multidisciplinary R&D teams.
Required skills
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge.
- IMP (Investigational Medicinal Product) management.
