Research Engagement Officer

About the role

Blood Cancer UK is the UK’s specialist blood cancer charity, funding world‑class research and supporting patients. We are seeking an enthusiastic, relationship‑focused Research Engagement Officer to join the Research team and strengthen connections with the researchers and Fellows we fund. The role will develop and deliver a programme of engagement, stewardship and collaboration across the research community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a structured researcher engagement and stewardship programme, including webinars and annual grant‑holder conferences.
• Plan and coordinate visits, events and touchpoints with grant holders and Fellows to sustain relationships and gather insights.
• Build and maintain insight on the blood‑cancer research community, identifying key researchers, institutions and networks.
• Represent Blood Cancer UK at meetings, conferences and research events to promote funding opportunities and raise the charity’s profile.
• Support the measurement, analysis and communication of research impact in partnership with the Research Impact and Funding teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience working in the charity or research sector with an understanding of how research funding translates into impact.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with senior academics and internal teams.
• Highly organised, proactive self‑starter capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Positive attitude to using technology, data and insight to achieve objectives.
