Residential Childcare Worker – Glasgow

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Residential Childcare Worker to join our team in Glasgow. You will provide 24‑hour care and support to vulnerable young people, helping them develop independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver round‑the‑clock residential care in a team environment.
• Support children with early trauma, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Accompany service users to school, community activities and appointments.
• Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to National Care Standards.
• Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, bank holidays and the Christmas period.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in a UK residential setting with young people.
• Flexibility to cover varied shifts and duties.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Registered under the PVG scheme (or willing to register).
• Full driving licence.
• SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (desirable).

Required skills

• Experience providing 24‑hour residential care.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Ability to plan and deliver community‑based activities.
