Service Support Worker (Casual, Zero Hours)

About the role

The British Red Cross is recruiting a Service Support Worker for its Health and Care team in Glasgow and East Renfrewshire. You will provide personal, emotional and practical support to adults in their own homes or community, helping them live more independently and feel more connected. No formal care experience is needed; the key is being able to make someone feel safe, supported and valued.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal, emotional and practical support to adults in their own homes or community
• Help service users with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation and medication
• Liaise with health and social care professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality care
• Promote safety and wellbeing through risk assessments and welfare checks

Required profile

• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not offered
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (business mileage reimbursed)
• Willingness to register with the Scottish Social Security Council (SSSC) within 3 months of starting
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
