Residential Surveyor – Flexible Part‑Time Consultancy

About the role

We are seeking an experienced RICS‑registered Valuer to join a well‑established independent residential surveying practice covering Taunton and the wider Somerset area. The position is a flexible consultancy role with a minimum commitment of two days per week, allowing you to manage your own diary while benefiting from a steady flow of instructions and strong administrative support.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake mortgage valuations for a range of lender clients.
• Carry out RICS Level 2 Home Surveys and Level 3 Building Surveys.
• Produce accurate, professional reports in line with RICS standards and lender requirements.
• Manage your own diary and workload efficiently.
• Deliver excellent customer service throughout the inspection and reporting process.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant professional and regulatory standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• AssocRICS or MRICS qualification with RICS Registered Valuer (VRS) status.
• Proven experience carrying out mortgage valuations.
• Experience completing RICS Level 2 Home Surveys and Level 3 Building Surveys.
• Strong knowledge of residential property construction and common defects.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Highly organised, professional and self‑motivated.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
