Restructuring & Insolvency Placement Student (2027)

About the role

The Restructuring & Insolvency placement offers a hands‑on experience within Menzies' specialist advisory team. You will work on a variety of insolvency procedures, supporting senior professionals and gaining exposure to real client cases.

Key responsibilities

• Produce standard letters and forms using internal systems to meet regulatory obligations.
• Handle written and telephone correspondence promptly and professionally.
• Liaise with creditors, employees and directors of insolvent estates.
• Coordinate with solicitors, chattel agents and debt collection agents to maximise asset realisations.
• Collect information and assist in preparing reports.
• Take ownership of cases, manage workload and keep line managers updated.
• Support team members and contribute to the firm’s work‑winning ethos.
• Potential travel to client sites as required.

Required profile

• Collaborative attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges.
• Minimum 2:2 undergraduate degree in any discipline.
• On track for at least 2 A‑levels (A‑C) plus another A‑level or equivalent.
• 5 GCSEs (A*‑C/9‑4) including Maths and English Language.
• Ability to absorb new information quickly and adapt.
• Comfortable working with numbers and strong attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to explain financial information in an accessible manner.
