Risk & Compliance Officer – International Law Firm

About the role

We are seeking a Risk & Compliance Officer to join a leading international law firm’s London team. The role focuses on client onboarding, regulatory compliance and conflict management, offering exposure to complex, high‑quality work across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with onboarding of new clients and matters, ensuring adherence to firm policies.
• Conduct client due diligence, including KYC checks, AML reviews and sanctions screening.
• Support conflict checks and the establishment of information barriers.
• Maintain accurate matter information and monitor client risk profiles, escalating concerns as needed.
• Prepare compliance reporting, assist with audit preparation and respond to regulatory queries.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in a compliance role within a regulated environment, preferably a law firm.
• Strong knowledge of AML and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational abilities and proactive problem‑solving.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building skills across the business.
