Rotational Outpatient MSK Physiotherapist

About the role

We are seeking a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatient team on a rotational basis. The role involves eight‑month rotations across a variety of specialist areas such as upper limb, hands, spinal, gym, hydrotherapy and virtual fracture clinic (VFC), providing a broad and varied caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver autonomous MSK assessments, formulate and implement individualised rehabilitation programmes, and evaluate outcomes using evidence‑based practice.
• Manage a mixed outpatient caseload, including patients with complex presentations.
• Supervise and line‑manage junior physiotherapists and support student teaching.
• Participate in departmental audits, service development projects and internal staff training (IST) sessions.
• Work flexibly across outpatient services and, when required, across multiple sites to meet service demand.

Required profile

• Current Band 5 or Band 6 MSK physiotherapy experience within the NHS.
• Confidence in assessing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
• Proactive, approachable attitude with a desire to develop clinical and supervisory skills.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and continuous professional development.
