Sales Controller – Automotive (Oxford)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Sales Controller to join a high‑performing automotive sales team in Oxford. The role supports the Sales Manager, drives profitability, coaches the sales team and ensures an excellent customer experience throughout the sales journey.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Sales Manager in day‑to‑day operations of the sales department.
• Lead, motivate and coach Sales Executives to meet and exceed targets.
• Assist in managing vehicle stock, pricing and stock turnover.
• Drive finance, insurance and add‑on product penetration.
• Handle customer enquiries professionally and efficiently.
• Monitor sales performance and implement action plans where required.
• Conduct deal reviews and help structure profitable vehicle sales.
• Maintain compliance with FCA regulations and internal processes.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high satisfaction scores.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and development of sales team members.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Sales Controller, Senior Sales Executive, Business Manager or similar automotive retail role.
• Proven record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
• Good understanding of finance and insurance products.
• Customer‑focused with strong communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
