Scaffolding Learner Coach – Apprenticeship Mentor

About the role

The Scaffolding Learner Coach will mentor and assess apprentices working towards the Scaffolding Level 2 standard. You will combine fieldwork with classroom support to help learners develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for successful apprenticeship completion.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, mentor, tutor and assess apprentices on Scaffolding Level 2 standards.
• Deliver workplace‑based knowledge sessions and embed maths and English where needed.
• Collaborate with other Learning Coaches to ensure classroom learning translates into practical skills.
• Maintain regular communication with employers, providing progress updates and building strong relationships.
• Plan and manage your own diary, providing constructive feedback and evidence for Ofsted and funding compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on scaffolding experience, preferably within industry or a training provider.
• Passion for sharing knowledge and supporting learners in a combined field‑and‑office role.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Proven ability to plan, prioritise and manage workload effectively.
• Desirable: teaching, coaching or assessor qualifications such as TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/33.

Required skills

• Scaffolding (Level 2) expertise.
