Scheduler – Care Allocations Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Scheduler to join a growing domiciliary care provider in Plymouth. The role is office‑based with occasional community support and is central to delivering person‑centred care by efficiently allocating visits and managing staff rotas.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain staff rotas using People Planner or a similar care management system.
• Allocate care visits in line with service‑user care plans and business requirements.
• Coordinate emergency cover, on‑call support and staffing changes.
• Enter new care packages into the system and review care plans.
• Act as primary contact for care staff, service users, families and external professionals.
• Ensure compliance with CQC standards, audit records and produce weekly KPI reports.
• Provide on‑call support during evenings and weekends, assisting with emergencies and arranging cover for sickness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in workforce planning or roster management within a care setting.
• Familiarity with CQC regulations and care‑management processes.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with managers, coordinators and care teams.
