School Caretaker

About the role

Engage Education Services is seeking an experienced School Caretaker to join a SEN school in Croydon. You will act as the primary facilities professional on‑site, overseeing day‑to‑day maintenance, security and health‑and‑safety duties across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in assigned areas.
• Manage security duties, including overseeing the main gate during break and lunch times.
• Carry out painting, decorating and basic repairs as needed.
• Empty trash cans, replace liners and replenish consumables such as toilet paper, paper towels and soap.
• Conduct general maintenance work and routine health‑and‑safety checks.
• Supervise external and internal contractors and act as keyholder.

Required profile

• Previous experience working within a school environment.
• A valid DBS check on the DBS update service.
• Availability to interview and start immediately.
