About the role
The School Place Planning Assistant provides essential administrative and organisational support to the Place Planning & Admissions team within West Northamptonshire Council. This role helps ensure statutory school place planning processes run smoothly, records remain accurate, and enquiries are handled efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to the Place Planning team.
- Manage the Place Planning inbox and log enquiries accurately.
- Assist with elements of the education capital programme.
- Support responses to internal and external enquiries.
- Organise meetings, briefings and events related to school organisation.
- Support statutory data returns and information requests.
- Use Office 365 and internal systems to maintain records and trackers.
Required profile
- Proactive, highly organised individual with a strong eye for detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
- Experience in an administrative or support role.
- Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills.
- Confidence using Office 365 or willingness to undertake training.
