Science Lecturer (Full‑time, Permanent)

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Science Lecturer to join the academic team at Trafford & Stockport College Group. The role is full‑time (35 hours per week) and permanent, based at our Stretford and Stockport campuses, delivering Level 2 and Level 3 science courses to learners aged 16 and above.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for GCSE sciences, BTEC Applied Science and T‑Level Laboratory Science.
• Develop and update curriculum materials to meet current standards and industry relevance.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback and support learners to achieve their targets.
• Contribute to departmental meetings, quality assurance processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in wider college activities and community engagement.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in a science discipline (preferably biology) and a teaching qualification or working towards one.
• Enthusiasm for inspiring young people and adult learners.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team.
• Flexibility, energy and a commitment to student success.

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge in biology and general science.
• Experience teaching Level 3 science courses (GCSE, BTEC, T‑Level) is desirable.
