Science Teacher

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join its secondary school in Bournemouth. You will inspire Key Stage 3 and 4 students across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, delivering high‑quality lessons in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons that challenge and motivate learners.
• Teach across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics for Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
• Create an inclusive, positive learning environment for students of all abilities.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives.
• Participate in wider school life, including enrichment activities and parents' evenings.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance, and achievement.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Degree in a Science‑related subject (desirable but not essential).
• Strong subject knowledge and passion for Science education.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to raising standards and improving student outcomes.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience teaching Science in a secondary school (desirable, not essential for early‑career teachers).
