About the role
We are seeking a motivated Scrub/Anaesthetic Practitioner (RN/ODP) to join the high‑performing theatre team at Duchy Hospital. You will deliver patient‑centred care across orthopaedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, plastics and laparoscopic procedures, working in a modern, safe environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support safe and efficient theatre care as a scrub practitioner.
- Prepare, set up and manage surgical equipment and consumables.
- Collaborate with consultants, nurses and multidisciplinary teams throughout procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection‑control standards.
- Provide clear communication to enhance the patient experience.
Required profile
- Current NMC or HCPC registration.
- Proven experience working as a Scrub Practitioner.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to high standards of patient safety and care.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Desirable: Surgical First Assistant or Advanced Surgical Practitioner qualification.
Required skills
- Surgical instrumentation handling.
- Operating theatre equipment preparation.
