Secondary English Teacher – Flexible Supply Roles in Warrington

About the role

Academics is seeking enthusiastic Secondary English Teachers for a range of flexible supply assignments across Warrington schools starting in September. The role suits qualified teachers and early‑career teachers who want varied classroom experience and control over their working days.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with optional KS5/A‑Level).
• Provide daily cover, short‑term absences, or longer block placements as required.
• Track student progress, give constructive feedback and inspire a love of reading and writing.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment using effective behaviour management strategies.

Required profile

• Degree in English, Creative Writing or a related field.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT) status.
• Experience teaching the UK secondary English curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to commute to secondary schools throughout Warrington.
