Secondary General Cover Teacher

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic secondary cover teachers to join schools in East Sussex on a full‑time, temporary basis. This role offers the chance to deliver high‑quality lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 while supporting student progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that meet the UK national curriculum.
• Assess, record and report on student development, progress and attainment.
• Maintain discipline through effective classroom management.
• Contribute to curriculum development and participate in school activities.
• Provide feedback to parents and guardians during meetings and evenings.
• Mentor students, offering guidance on academic and personal development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Right to work in the UK.
• A degree in a relevant subject area.
• Experience teaching at secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
