Secondary Tutor – Full‑time (Permanent)

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is for a qualified secondary teacher who will deliver personalised tuition to students with SEND, medical needs or other barriers to learning. You will work year‑round, including school holidays, to help learners re‑engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, one‑to‑one or small‑group tuition for secondary‑aged pupils.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across your specialist subject(s), including GCSE content where appropriate.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet each learner’s individual needs.
• Teach in a variety of settings – learners’ homes, schools, community venues and online.
• Monitor progress, keep accurate records and contribute to reviews and transition planning.
• Collaborate with families, schools, colleges and other professionals to support each learner’s journey.
• Promote inclusive practice, building confidence, independence and resilience.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS/PGCE).
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and experience delivering GCSE or equivalent.
• Experience supporting young people with SEND, medical needs or other barriers.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice.
