Teaching Assistant

About the role

A well‑regarded further education college in Hounslow is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to start in September 2026. This full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday position offers the chance to gain practical experience in education while supporting young adults in their learning journey.

Key responsibilities

• Support students during lessons, helping them understand and engage with the material.
• Provide additional assistance to individuals or small groups as needed.
• Encourage learners to become more confident and independent.
• Assist teaching staff with lesson preparation and classroom resources.
• Help maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with lecturers, pastoral colleagues and other staff members.

Required profile

• Degree from a Russell Group university.
• Strong interest in working within education and supporting young adults.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Calm, patient and approachable manner.
• Ability to use initiative and adapt to different situations.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
