Security Officer

About the role

Join OCS as a Security Officer and help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment across Salford council sites and the wider northwest region. You will be the first point of contact for employees and visitors, delivering professional and friendly service while protecting people, property, and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of buildings, personnel, and visitors across the site.
• Monitor fire, security and building management systems and respond appropriately to incidents.
• Control access points, barriers and support traffic management.
• Carry out regular patrols and ensure security procedures are consistently followed.
• Support a safe working environment by following Health & Safety policies and reporting hazards, damage or defects.

Required profile

• Right to work in the UK and ability to pass BS7858 vetting.
• Valid SIA licence.
• Previous experience in a security role.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Required skills

• Experience working in a busy or public‑facing environment (desirable).
• Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to duties.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
