Security Specialist – EMEA (Location Flexible)

About the role

As ClickHouse expands its footprint in financial services, healthcare, telco and the public sector across EMEA, security, data residency and regulatory compliance are becoming decisive factors in deals. The Security Specialist will act as the technical security authority within the EMEA Solutions Architecture team, guiding customers and internal teams through security conversations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the security overlay on EMEA opportunities, supporting conversations related to security, privacy, or compliance alongside Solutions Architects and Account Executives.
• Lead security discussions with CISOs, security architects, and GRC teams, translating ClickHouse architecture into recognized control frameworks.
• Design and validate secure ClickHouse Cloud and BYOC deployment patterns, including network isolation, private connectivity, encryption, customer‑managed keys, identity federation, and granular access control.
• Run threat modelling and architecture reviews with customer security teams and own the security workstream through POC and production readiness.
• Provide expertise on compliance postures such as SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, DORA and NIS2.

Required profile

• Significant customer‑facing technical experience at a data platform, analytics, streaming, or database company.
• Deep knowledge of cloud and data security, including IAM, key management, cryptography, network isolation, secure multi‑tenancy, threat modelling and audit.
• Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS and EU regulations.
• Proven ability to engage with security buyers, including CISOs, and communicate technical solutions effectively.
