About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic SEMH Teacher to join a specialist school in Chelmsford that supports mixed‑sex pupils aged 4‑19 with social, emotional and mental health needs. The role involves delivering both academic and vocational curricula in a highly personalised, small‑class environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across a range of subjects, meeting national benchmarks.
- Work collaboratively with residential and therapeutic practitioners to promote student wellbeing and resilience.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to personalised education plans.
- Support the reintegration of disengaged pupils back into mainstream settings.
- Participate in ongoing training, safeguarding checks and team meetings.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS, or a relevant degree.
- Passion for working with students who have additional needs.
- Resilient, robust and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.
- Willingness to undertake safeguarding and Prevent Duty training.
