SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full‑time (£14.25‑£16.65/hr)

About the role
Reeson Education is partnering with an SEMH specialist school in Stockport to recruit an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant. This full‑time, long‑term position starts in September and supports children with complex social, emotional and mental health needs.
Key responsibilities
- Promote inclusion by encouraging all pupils to participate in learning and extracurricular activities.
- Support the delivery of a broad, balanced curriculum aimed at helping pupils reach their full potential.
- Apply consistent behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.
- Assist class teachers with behaviour management to maintain a safe, engaging environment.
- Organise teaching spaces and resources to create a stimulating learning setting.
- Observe pupil performance, report observations to teachers, and supervise classes when required.
Required profile
- Minimum 6 months experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant/Childcare.
- Excellent communication, patience and ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
