Semi Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join a well‑established chartered accountancy practice in St Albans. The role offers hybrid working and the chance to develop technical and commercial skills while supporting a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Assist with management accounts and financial reporting assignments.
• Support corporation tax and personal tax compliance work.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and answer day‑to‑day queries.
• Maintain accurate accounting records using cloud‑based software packages.
• Assist senior colleagues with client assignments and year‑end deadlines.
• Identify opportunities for additional client support or advisory services.

Required profile

• At least two years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• AAT qualification or currently studying towards ACA or ACCA.
• Strong organisational skills and a client‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
