Semi Senior / Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Semi‑Senior or Senior Accountant to join our growing practice in Budleigh Salterton. You will work with a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, sole traders and limited companies, handling accounts, tax compliance and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Assist with personal and corporation tax returns.
• Liaise with clients to obtain records and resolve queries.
• Maintain accurate accounting records using cloud accounting software.
• Support senior team members with client management.
• Assist with bookkeeping and management accounts when required.
• Ensure work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines.

Required profile

• Experience working within an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualified, ACCA/ACA part‑qualified or equivalent experience.
• Good knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
