SEN Budget & Recoupment Officer – Hybrid, Wembley

About the role

We are looking for an experienced SEN Budget & Recoupment Officer to join a busy Local Authority finance team in Wembley. The role is hybrid, offering a blend of office‑based work and remote flexibility, and starts as soon as possible on a temporary contract.

Key responsibilities

• Support the monitoring and forecasting of Special Educational Needs (SEN) budgets.
• Manage recoupment of SEN funding for out‑of‑borough pupils with Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.
• Process SEN payments for pupils attending both Brent and out‑of‑borough schools.
• Raise purchase orders, process invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain accurate financial records and databases.
• Produce regular reports using Oracle Cloud, Excel and Power BI.
• Liaise with schools, parents, providers and other local authorities.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and council policies.

Required profile

• Knowledge of SEN funding processes and financial regulations.
• AAT or ACCA qualification (full or part‑qualified).
• Experience in SEN, education finance, school funding or local authority finance.
• Strong ability to work with complex financial data and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
