SEN Budget & Recoupment Officer (Hybrid, Wembley)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced SEN Budget & Recoupment Officer to join a busy Local Authority finance team in Wembley. The role is hybrid, offering the chance to work with schools, parents and other authorities to manage special educational needs funding.

Key responsibilities

• Support monitoring and forecasting of SEN budgets.
• Manage recoupment of SEN funding for out‑of‑borough pupils with EHC plans.
• Process SEN payments for Brent pupils attending both local and out‑of‑borough schools.
• Raise purchase orders, process invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain accurate financial records and databases.
• Produce reports using Oracle Cloud, Excel and Power BI.
• Liaise with schools, parents, providers and other local authorities.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and council policies.

Required profile

• Knowledge of SEN funding processes and financial regulations.
• AAT or ACCA qualified/part‑qualified.
• Experience in SEN, education finance, school funding or local authority finance.
• Strong reporting skills and ability to work with complex financial data under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

What we offer

• £20.08 per hour PAYE (or £26.44 per hour on an umbrella arrangement).
