SEN Case Officer – Temporary (Remote)

About the role

We are partnering with a Local Authority to recruit a dedicated SEN Case Officer. The role supports the Authority’s responsibilities for Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments, plans and reviews, ensuring children and young people receive appropriate support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload covering at least two specialism areas such as Early Years, Primary, Secondary, Post‑16, NEET prevention or vulnerable groups.
• Work collaboratively with children, families, schools and other agencies to achieve holistic outcomes.
• Prepare, amend and review EHC plans in line with the SEND Regulations 2014 and Code of Practice 2015.
• Make independent judgments on complex cases and present solutions to families and young people.
• Represent the Local Authority during EHC plan review meetings as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a local authority SEND setting.
• Strong knowledge of EHCP processes, SEND legislation and annual review procedures.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to handle complex caseloads and statutory deadlines.
• Advanced written and spoken English for sensitive stakeholder interaction.
