SEN Learning Support Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our school community and provide dedicated support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role offers flexible working options, including full‑time or temporary placements, and does not require prior experience in a classroom setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to pupils with a range of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and moderate learning difficulties.
• Assist teachers with day‑to‑day classroom activities, reinforcing learning targets and maintaining consistent routines.
• Help manage challenging behaviour and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Support the creation of a safe space where every child feels valued and encouraged to participate.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff to ensure individual learning plans are effectively implemented.

Required profile

• A genuine interest in working with children who have special educational needs.
• Enthusiastic, flexible attitude with a calm and positive demeanor.
• Willingness to undergo online training provided by the employer.
• Energy, patience and dedication to support pupils with complex needs.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills are required; the role focuses on interpersonal support and classroom assistance.
