SEN Teacher – Flexible, Self‑Managed Role in Manchester

About the role

Flexzo Teach is connecting passionate SEN teachers with an expanding alternative provision in Manchester. This position offers full control over your schedule and rates while delivering specialised support to young people who thrive outside mainstream education.

Key responsibilities

• Lead non‑traditional learning sessions for students with behavioural, SEMH or complex personal circumstances.
• Design and implement adapted curriculum plans tailored to individual needs.
• Build trust and rapport with disengaged learners, supporting life‑skills, confidence and vocational preparation.
• Collaborate with parents, external support networks and local settings to ensure holistic care.
• Assist students in transitioning to post‑16 pathways such as college or apprenticeships.

Required profile

• QTS/QTLS desirable but not essential; experienced unqualified teachers, HLTA or cover supervisors with strong SEN backgrounds are welcome.
• Proven experience supporting learners with ASD, SEMH needs or challenging behaviours.
• Valid right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Resilience to thrive in a fast‑paced, startup‑style environment where processes evolve.
• Passion for fostering life‑skills and vocational outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills for working with families and external partners.
