SEN Teacher – KS1 (Autism & SLD) – Full‑Time in Islington

About the role

We are looking for a passionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Islington. The role involves teaching a settled KS1 class of pupils with autism spectrum disorder and specific learning difficulties, using a sensory‑based curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons for small groups and individual pupils, adapting content to sensory learning styles.
• Build supportive relationships, promote confidence, self‑esteem and independence.
• Provide break‑time and lunchtime support, addressing physical or sensory needs as required.
• Collaborate with the SENDCO, HLTA and TA team to ensure effective classroom provision.
• Lead timetabling for support staff, line‑manage assistants and update student profiles.
• Monitor academic progress and emotional well‑being, contributing to intervention reviews.

Required profile

• Available to start full‑time from September and commit to a long‑term permanent role.
• Proven experience working in SEN, preferably with KS1/primary‑aged children.
• Confidence in delivering a sensory‑based curriculum.
• Ability to commute to Islington.
