SEN Teaching Assistant – East London

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in a vibrant East London school. You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to deliver inclusive learning experiences that promote academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils with SEN.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
• Promote a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
• Offer personal care assistance when required.
• Monitor pupil progress and give feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties).
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to obtain or hold an enhanced DBS on the update service.
• Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or SEN training are desirable.
