SEN Teaching Assistant – Full‑time (Day Rate £95‑£120)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a secondary school in Croydon. The successful candidate will work full‑time (8 am‑4 pm) on a temporary contract until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension or a permanent role based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons and supporting pupils with special educational needs.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to enhance learning outcomes.
• Help prepare teaching materials and resources.
• Support behaviour management strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupils’ individual education plans.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and report any concerns promptly.

Required profile

• Experience working with children and young people, preferably in an SEN setting.
• Relevant degree qualification.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (issued within the last year).
• Positive, can‑do attitude.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references covering the last two years.

• Knowledge of SEN strategies and support techniques.
• Effective communication with pupils and staff.
