SEN Teaching Assistant (Part‑time/Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs at Courtlands Primary School. This part‑time, temporary position offers the chance to work closely with teachers and make a positive impact on pupils' learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with lesson delivery, including setting up resources and materials.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support for pupils who need additional help.
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and reasonable accommodations for SEN students.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and promote an inclusive, positive atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and other support professionals to ensure smooth classroom operation.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar support role (preferred but not essential).
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to build rapport with students, teachers and parents.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting learners with diverse needs.
• Flexibility to work across different year groups and classroom settings.
• Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous.
