SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Middlesbrough)

About the role

Join a vibrant primary school in Middlesbrough as a SEN Teaching Assistant. You will work full‑time, Monday to Friday, providing dedicated support to pupils with sensory processing and additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group assistance for pupils with SEN.
• Support children with sensory processing challenges and emotional regulation.
• Implement strategies that maintain a positive, structured learning environment.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
• Encourage independence, engagement, and positive social interaction.
• Assist with learning activities both inside and outside the classroom.

Required profile

• Experience working with children who have SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Calm, patient and proactive attitude.
• Ability to stay positive during challenging situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
