SEN Teaching Assistant – Short & Long-Term Cover

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistants to provide short‑term and long‑term cover in a thriving secondary school in Hastings. You will work closely with teachers and students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support students in lessons across a range of subjects.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions.
• Assist pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and classroom engagement.
• Prepare learning resources and support classroom activities.
• Encourage academic, social and emotional development.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive attitude.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Passion for education and supporting young people.
• Relevant qualifications or school‑based experience are advantageous but not essential.
