SEN Teaching Assistant – Sittingbourne

About the role

Join a primary school in Sittingbourne as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support to children with a range of SEN profiles. You will help pupils progress academically and socially while working closely with teachers and families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 and small‑group assistance to pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs.
• Monitor and assess each pupil’s progress and share updates with teachers, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Collaborate with classroom staff to adapt activities and resources for individual needs.
• Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and obtain relevant accreditation.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant is highly desirable.
• Holding an L2 or L3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience working with children with SEN in an educational or pastoral setting is preferred.
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS on the update service.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
