SEN Teaching Assistant – Speech & Language & SEMH Support

About the role

We are seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support across two placements in New Milton and Totton. The role starts in September 2026 and involves morning support for a Year 1 pupil with speech and language needs, followed by afternoon support for a pupil with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 speech and language support to a Year 1 pupil (8:30 am‑12:30 pm).
• Provide 1:1 SEMH support to a pupil in Totton on Monday and Tuesday afternoons (12:30 pm‑3:30 pm).
• Implement individualized strategies to promote communication, confidence and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate support within the broader curriculum.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and adapt approaches as needed.

Required profile

• Experience working with children with SEN, speech & language, or SEMH needs.
