SEN Teaching Assistant – Support Autism & SEN Students

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in North West London. The role involves working closely with children who have autism, moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and specific learning difficulties (SLD). This is a full‑time, long‑term position with an immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and group support to SEN pupils within the classroom.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons.
• Implement individual education plans and monitor progress.
• Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, parents and external specialists.

Required profile

• Recent experience working in a school setting with SEN students.
• Understanding of autism, MLD and SLD needs.
• Friendly, patient and able to build rapport with children.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare standards.

Required skills

• Experience supporting autistic learners.
• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
• Ability to follow and contribute to individual education plans.
