SEN Teaching Assistant – Support Autistic Key Stage 2 Pupils

About the role

We are seeking a Psychology graduate to join a primary school in South Leeds as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. You will work one‑to‑one with a Key Stage 2 pupil who has autism, providing tailored support and helping them engage with the national curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily 1:1 support to an autistic pupil in a classroom setting.
• Assist the teacher with lesson preparation and delivery to ensure the pupil’s needs are met.
• Use creative strategies to stimulate learning and maintain a nurturing classroom environment.
• Monitor progress and communicate updates to the senior leadership team.

Required profile

• Recent psychology degree (minimum 2:2 or higher).
• Strong passion for education and improving pupil attainment.
• Creative approach to engaging students.
• Patient and nurturing attitude in the classroom.
