About the role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a child in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) at a welcoming primary school in Waltham Forest, London. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time, long‑term placement.
Key responsibilities
- Support the learning, development and well‑being of an EYFS child with additional needs.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored strategies.
- Create an encouraging, inclusive classroom environment.
- Promote independence, confidence and positive learning habits.
- Contribute to the wider school community and participate in training opportunities.
Required profile
- Passionate about working with young learners and supporting special educational needs.
- Motivated, caring and proactive in building positive relationships.
- Open to recent graduates as well as experienced assistants.
Required skills
- Effective communication with children and staff.
- Ability to implement individualized support plans.
- Basic understanding of EYFS curriculum and SEN frameworks.
