SEND Teacher – English Specialist (Full‑time, Fixed‑term)

About the role
Join a vibrant SEND department at a secondary mainstream school in Guildford, delivering high‑quality English intervention for students with special educational needs. You will work primarily in the dedicated SEND Hub, providing 1:1 and small‑group teaching that supports KS3 and KS4 learners.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons and interventions for SEND students.
- Adapt resources to meet a range of needs, including pupils with EHCPs.
- Support GCSE English, functional skills and preparation for further study.
- Monitor progress, give targeted feedback and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the Deputy SENCO, Progress Mentors and the English department.
- Contribute to the development of the SEND Hub and wider provision.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong English subject knowledge.
- Passion for inclusive teaching and experience with SEND learners.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students with diverse needs.
