SEND Tutor – Flexible Teaching Roles in West Sussex

About the role

Join Targeted Provision as a SEND Tutor, delivering flexible, trauma‑informed tuition in Maths, English or Science to young people with SEND and SEMH needs. Work across in‑person, online and hybrid formats, tailoring support to each learner while enjoying a schedule that fits your lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group tuition for KS1‑KS5 pupils with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD or PMLD.
• Plan and deliver lessons that are flexible, creative and trauma‑informed.
• Collaborate with schools, local authorities and the SEND Support Team to ensure seamless referrals and progress tracking.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and create a safe learning environment.
• Record and report pupil progress and any safeguarding concerns.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years teaching experience, ideally with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD or PMLD.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding practices.

Required skills

• Experience teaching Maths, English and/or Science.
• Proven ability to work with SEND and SEMH learners using a trauma‑informed approach.
• Capability to deliver tuition in‑person, online and hybrid formats.
