Senior Account Handler – Director Support

About the role

The Senior Account Handler will act as the trusted right‑hand to the Managing Director, supporting a portfolio of larger, complex commercial insurance clients while also managing an independent book of business. This hybrid role blends strategic client management, broking and renewal work, offering a clear pathway to more senior responsibilities within a fast‑growing insurance group.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of commercial insurance clients, delivering high‑quality service and building long‑term relationships.
• Support the Managing Director in day‑to‑day oversight of larger, high‑value accounts.
• Handle renewals, mid‑term adjustments and broking activities across diverse commercial lines.
• Negotiate terms with insurers to secure competitive outcomes for clients.
• Develop trusted client relationships through proactive communication and responsive service.
• Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and assist in their development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial insurance broking or account handling.
• Confidence managing Commercial Combined, Motor Fleet and other commercial risks.
• Experience in recruitment insurance, cyber, D&O or medical malpractice is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with senior business stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Acturis insurance platform.
