Senior Accountant / Client Manager – Manchester

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant / Client Manager to join a fast‑growing Manchester accountancy practice. You will act as the primary contact for a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, delivering accounting, tax and advisory services while supporting their growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse client portfolio, providing accounting, tax and advisory support.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts and tax returns.
• Deliver high‑quality compliance work and meet all filing deadlines.
• Provide proactive business, financial and tax advice to help clients expand.
• Mentor and review the work of junior team members.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and financial analysis projects.
• Identify and implement process improvements and technology enhancements.
• Support business development activities and client meetings.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Proven experience in accounting, tax compliance and client advisory.
• Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of accounting standards and tax legislation.
