Senior Accountant – Client Portfolio Management

About the role

We are a well‑established independent accountancy practice in South Manchester looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our friendly, ambitious team. You will work closely with owner‑managed businesses and individuals, taking ownership of a varied client portfolio and contributing to the practice’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts and financial reports.
• Complete corporation tax, personal tax and VAT returns.
• Review work of junior team members, providing support and mentorship.
• Develop long‑term client relationships and identify advisory opportunities.

Required profile

• Qualified by experience (ACA, ACCA or equivalent experience valued).
• Previous experience in an accountancy practice managing a client portfolio independently.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts and taxation.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive, organised and solutions‑focused attitude.
