Senior Accountant – Housing Association (6‑Month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a well‑established housing association in Salford on a six‑month fixed‑term basis. The role is hybrid, offering a blend of office and remote work, and is ideal for a qualified finance professional ready to make an immediate impact.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and manage the external audit process.
• Produce monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis and forecasting.
• Develop and manage service charge budgets for existing properties and new developments.
• Review actual versus budgeted costs, investigate variances, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling for business cases.
• Provide financial analysis, support senior management decision‑making, and deputise for the Finance Lead as needed.
• Mentor and develop junior colleagues to foster a collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
• Proven experience in a similar role within a UK housing association/provider.
• Strong UK management accounting and financial reporting background.
• Full right to work in the UK and immediate availability.
