Senior Accountant

About the role

IMC is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its London Finance team. You will support the financial operations of the London office and its FX and commodity trading activities, working closely with trading, mid‑office, tax, auditors and regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting for two UK entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP/IFRS.
• Lead month‑end processes including invoice booking, payments, bookkeeping and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and audit workpapers for UK entities.
• Assist with corporate tax filings and coordinate third‑party advisors.
• Support quarterly and annual FCA submissions and UK VAT filings.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and process‑automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• ACCA qualified or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience (or 2+ years post‑qualification experience).
• Strong verbal and written English communication.
• Self‑driven, proactive and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software; Workday is a plus.
• Exposure to Python is desirable.
