Senior Accountant – Part‑Time Hybrid (25‑30 hrs/week)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to join a values‑led practice on a part‑time, hybrid basis. You will work 25–30 hours per week, enjoying autonomy, career development and a supportive team culture while delivering high‑quality financial services to a portfolio of SME clients.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for an assigned client portfolio, ensuring excellent service and timely communication.
• Prepare and review FRS105 & FRS102 accounts and corporation tax returns.
• Prepare VAT returns, management accounts and financial forecasts.
• Complete self‑assessment returns for individuals and partnerships.
• Support and review junior staff output, providing constructive feedback.
• Monitor scope changes and manage pricing through structured proposals.
• Maintain accurate progress in practice management tools and respond to client emails within agreed timelines.
• Occasionally travel for team or client meetings.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW) with at least 2 years of practice experience.
• Experience preparing FRS105/FRS102 accounts and handling corporation tax and VAT returns.
• Good knowledge of UK self‑assessment and SME tax.
• Strong communication skills, both written and video‑based.
• Attention to detail, effective time management and a collaborative mindset.
